My favourite walks
54 Degrees North
We walked across England, literally in a straight line, starting on the East Yorkshire coast, and wanted to see where we would end up. Following the 54 Degree North line of latitude, we went near to York, Knaresborough, and Harrogate and continued past Lancaster finishing on the coast of the Irish Sea. We found out that part of our country was earmarked as a testing site for atomic bombs, that a Hollywood actor was related to a great Victorian engineer, and learned the story of a blind man that built some of our major roads, that are still in use today, along with a whole lot more.
Coast to Coast
192 miles from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay, and everything in between. Possibly the best walk ever.
Just the two of us on this one, but still one heck of an adventure.
